AI value maturity self-assessment

20 questions, about five minutes. Each answer describes what your organisation does today, so the result shows where its AI evidence is thinnest.

Layer 1

Usage Transparency

What are we spending, where is demand appearing, and who is consuming AI capability?

Pick the statement closest to what happens today, not what is planned.

1. How completely can you list where your organisation spends money on AI?
2. How is shared AI cost, such as a platform, gateway or GPU capacity, assigned to the teams that use it?
3. Can you tie AI usage to a named workload or use case?
4. How is AI spend forecast and its anomalies handled?

About this assessment

What it answers
Which of the five layers of AI value management your organisation has in place, which it has skipped, and where to start.
How it calculates
Each of the 20 answers scores 1 to 5.A layer's score is the mean of its four answers. The overall level comes from the mean of the five layer scores (below 1.8 is Level 1, below 2.6 Level 2, below 3.4 Level 3, below 4.2 Level 4, otherwise Level 5), but is never more than one level above your weakest layer, because each layer depends on the evidence from the layers below it. The two lowest layers are your priorities; on a tie the earlier layer comes first.
When to use it
A leadership team agreeing where its AI evidence is thinnest before choosing what to fix.
