Buyer fit
Relevant where teams want an editor built around managing several coding agents. Cost visibility is a weaker point than in seat-priced tools with billing APIs, so plan how usage will be reported before scaling.

Cognition took over the Windsurf product and team in July 2025 and renamed it Devin Desktop on 2 June 2026. The original Cascade agent was retired on 1 July 2026, replaced by Devin Local.
